What is the setting for Cinderella?
Do you get different answers for the Disney version and the original?
Yesterday’s uniform essay reminded me of that little bit of costume history puzzle that I have never solved. One day I will read a book about the making of Disney and Cinderella and all of the other powerful stories that made young me and most of America; to find out what magical kingdom Prince Charming will inherit. But! until then, I will rely on hunch and internet gist - Cinderella is essence of prince. Not precise prince from exact time and place. He is the American version of what this anti-royalty country thinks a prince should be.
