Did Liev Schreiber go to Catholic School?
like John Patrick Shanley did
I have a good theater-going habit. How about a theater-reading habit?
I never want to pick up a play….I don’t know why. Most folks I meet say that they struggled with the last book of Harry Potter, The Cursed Child because it was a play, not a novel. …if there were four more Harry Potter books in play format, I bet we would have a generation of script readers.
sigh. opportunity lost. but! at least I can turn myself back into a play reader.
Even the long plays are short! For this little essay below I read Doubt, the 2004 play by Michael Patrick Shanley. It was 54 pages. It took me less than an hour. And it was great! It is free on the Internet Archive, and available through every library system I checked.
I am adding a weekly play to the professional theater training program I am walking myself through (for the third time). I read a play a week in both programs. There was a Monday discussion to follow a weekend play reading. Let’s do that! Hit reply and we will set it up. Woohoo!
