Billy Preston is not a prodigy. Nor are Mozart, Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis Jr.

Not prodigies. Not self-taught. Very very well taught by a personal tutor + conservatory training from the age of 3.

I called Billy Preston a prodigy in a previous post, because that is what he is called on Wikipedia page. I won’t use that word any more. It applies to the super skilled way less often than I used to think.

Wikipedia called him self-taught.
