Rollicking is right! That is what the New York Post called the original 1972 run of Grease on Broadway. I know a few adults capable of that level of jittery wackiness, and dozens of teenagers that wake up that wacky and stay that way most of the day. What a great show for showcasing the full weird of almost adulthood..

Grease is off-limits for Bishop McDevitt High School’s Spring Musical. At least it was while John Brixius was the principal and drama director. “The resolution of the play implies that she becomes a ‘loose woman’.” That is what I remember him saying when his favorite student petitioned him to do it for the tenth time. That may not be the exact sentence structure, but he definitely said “loose woman” as he looked at the student from over his glasses.
