My intentions are usually honorable….
Performer happiness makes a big difference in their performance. So, I want them to be as happy as possible. Usually this starts with safety and then physical comfort and ends with feeling like they look right and/or great.
Safety, Comfort and Looks may be able to live together in tech or a dress rehearsal, even the full run of a show. If the run is more than 2 weeks, though, an actor’s personal life starts to exert pressure on their show look and performance.
Some actors have really rearranged their lives to support the taxing things that happen when they are on the job. (especially hard because the schedule is so different from rehearsal period to performances)
But even those super pros will wear out when the show and design isn’t designed for months worth of Safety, Comfort and Looks.
