The same (greaat) local television station that has a monthly spot for this week’s theater, Wolfe Mountain Entertainment, had the local teens do documentaries on their town while they were doing remote schooling in 2020. Only one of the 15 kids in the class chose to even mention the pandemic. They all had much more to say about what life is like for them any day, any year.

This kid cut right to it:

“As a child the town you live in is huge and bright. It is our whole world.

But as I grew up the light around my town started to slowly dim. All the bright places were going dark. I saw all the ruined houses. Businesses going out of business. People struggling to get by.

That for me made me look at my town as a place I wanted to leave and never return.

Nothing good could come from Meigs County. That was how I thought for a very long time.”
