A human hair wig with a lace front is worth thousands…and more thousands of dollars. Before we talk about wigs, I realize that we need to establish why a wig artisan can entrust their delicate stock to a gaggle of middle schoolers.

Superhero levels of supervision. Wardrobe departments have that constant awareness of the environment, of which only a few of us are capable.

I think of the kindergarten teacher who runs a happy safe classroom. In my experience, 6-year-olds make several attempts on their own lives in the space of an hour. When I glance at the classroom of the kindergarten on the corner, every day I am astounded at how calm these teachers look with 24 kids doing a dozen different activities. It seems clear that the teacher is aware of all the kids, all at once, and everyone is happy and safe.

A great wardrobe person is like that, calm, aware and in control. Let’s just cast them as the superheroes they are and consider what a wardrobe person does on the day of a performance:
