Three 30 seconds acts. A beginning, middle and an end. Each precisely half a minute long. Put together, you have the struggle of lifetime in 90 seconds.

That was yesterday’s dance piece. I applied it to a 90 second father-son scene in Our Town.

This scene in act one of Our Town between teenage George and his father, Dr.Gibbs, is about 90 seconds, as long as the two person scenes that the graduate acting classes use. Just enough to find your goal, your obstacles, and tactics in about 15 minutes:
