We can make it from Atlanta, GA’s Virginia Highland Church with its Renegade Theater in the basement to Concord, NC’s Old Courthouse Theater in 27 hours on a bike.

The nice thing about getting places on a bike is

  • you have to go slowly (if you are me and you are not capable of going fast), so you look around.

  • you have to stop for drinks and food every couple of miles (if you are me and you are going very slowly … because you bike slow … and because you ate too much at all of those pit stops)

Only one bad thing,

  • you fear for your life the whole time … none of these are bike trails

I am going to cut that fear in half by tricking out my bike with lights and other bits of flash that drivers can see from a distance:

I see that flags are key to the flashy fly-by. it's a big election year, I can go patriotic on it and do some red, white, and blue.

If you are joining me on your own bike or in the sidecar you can choose the music - the other key to not getting hit on a small two-lane road. They have to hear us before they see us.
