‘3 hours on anti-Semitism? Yeah. No thank you.’

To be clear, I did not recommend A Prayer for the French Republic to Sarah K #1. She asked if there is anything she should go see. I was about to explain that the Huntington has two stages and that the shows on both stages are great. I only got so far as, ‘The Hunti…’ when she said real quick, ‘3 hours on anti-Semitism? Yeah. No thank you. A friend tried to get me to go with her. She was so excited. I almost bought tickets for last Saturday night. And then I looked at the description. Yeah. I am not going to spend my Saturday night getting told about what I already know. Have you read Everybody Loves a Dead Jew?’

To be clear, again, I was not about to recommend A Prayer for the French Republic to Sarah K. #1. I have been at the ticket hawking hustle for a year now. I have learned that if I have a moment of hesitation when recommending a show, I shouldn’t do it. People who rarely go to theater should probably only sees shows that are a home…
