Every single one of my 6 person group loved Enemy of the People at Circle in the Square Theater in Manhattan. I can’t imagine who wouldn’t love this show.

Or rather, I don’t have to imagine who wouldn’t like the show. The folks sitting to my 13 year old’s right didn’t love it. And they said so. During the show. A lot.

I occasionally would look over at him - he was sitting a few sections away (too expensive to sit together) - because I was so sure this was hitting him right between the eyes. This show was made for a 13 year old putting together the way society really works. I really can’t say enough about how well suited this production is for young people.

He was not smiling and nodding the way he sometimes does when a line really hits. But he looked pleased. I was so excited to hear what he had to say when we reunited.

“Man! the people next to us really hated that show.”
